Somatic Explorations/Active Meditations (SEAM)
Introductory Class Increasingly, people are seeking ways to find peace and calmness in the instability of the world through meditation. People are also seeking ways to get into their bodies and out of their heads through movement. A seam is a point of convergence that connects distinctive threads. Somatic Explorations/Active Meditations (SEAM) bring together the worlds of somatics and meditation, sound and silence, movement and stillness. SEAM is designed to develop your proprioception (your body’s self-perception) through anatomical imagery and the five technologies of somatic experience (breath, vocalization, contact, movement and stillness). With Somatic Explorations/Active Meditations, you find your inner compass and are able to move from the inside out more efficiently and pleasurably; cultivate more grounding, calm and clarity; and deepen your own inner bodily dialogue. This work is for every-body, applicable to all age groups and all levels of physical conditioning.
